Day 31

We weighed the chicks again today. Here is Larry being weighed.

One of the Black Australorps is the biggest at 10 ounces. That’s almost twice what she was nine days ago (5.25). She’ll be a full pound by next week. The other Black Australorp is the smallest, weighing in at 7.5 ounces.
Here is Larry looking at herself in the mirror. She’s not sure where that chicken came from or what its intentions are, but she’s going to keep an eye on it.

I’m not sure why Josh named his hen “Larry.” He wanted to name Avery “Larry,” but that wasn’t going to happen. He’s happy now that he finally named something “Larry.”

Josh has named this one “Murphy”

This is “Miss Prissy” (like the hen on Bugs Bunny)

They are all very curious and like to try new things.

They all wanted a turn walking between my ankles.

Avery loves to stare at the chicks. We took one out today to let her see up close and she tried to chomp it. I guess we’ll try again next week. Ozzy just stared at it and shook. Dandy is totally uninterested in them.
Let me stand on it.

Get off, it’s my turn.

Get away! It’s mine!

(Notice the one on top has a piece in her mouth and another is trying to take it ).

The crest (head feathers) on the Polish are really coming in, giving them weird little mullets
